A tradition unlike any other.

I had to do a post about Casey's project he's been working on for about a month now. Today he left for sunny Arizona to play golf with three of his friends. They will be playing A LOT OF GOLF over the next few days. Casey made these ball marker coins for each of them. They are made of medal (he used a machine at the shop to fabricate them) and are each spray painted a different color. On one side of each coin is the official logo of the Masters (slightly altered to reflect their Arizona trip- I had to photoshop the pin over to Arizona. It is usually on Georgia.) On the other side of the coin is an inside joke for each guy. I won't even begin to explain what each one means. Only they really know or "get it." Casey's coin is a surprise to him. The other guys came up with an idea for it and then I made it so he would get the full effect of the fun. The saying at the Masters is "a tradition unlike any other." Casey is hoping to make this an annual project for their annual trip, a tradition unlike any other... a collection of coins. So crafty Casey!

White Spring

I can't even believe how much it has snowed this year. It is CRAZY! This is what my backyard looks like today... April 14th! One week ago today I was at the lake letting the girls splash around in the water and today its snowing... AGAIN! I'm tired of it. The countdown continues, 8 more days until I'm in sunny Arizona where the forecast calls for temperatures in the high 80's. BRING IT ON!

Betty Spaghetti

This is Betty Spaghetti. We got her last fall and both girls have taken turns being totally in love with her. My mom bought her for Kyla when she was very into mermaids, Ariel, Dora Mermaid, and was a mermaid for Halloween. She came with a skirt and two legs so that on occasion she can turn into a "human girl." She's been MIA for a few months now and I haven't seen her out and about. Yesterday that changed. Kyla played with her for the entire day, even putting her to bed in the baby crib that is next hers at bedtime. At one point she asked me if I wanted to see Betty put on a show. I said yes and she proceeded to take Betty's head off (her head, body, arms, tail, etc all come apart) hold her by the two pigtails and sing a "beautiful" ballad as if Betty was singing. I laughed out loud. She cracks me up. Betty is still in the bed today and hasn't been played with yet. I guess she's tired from the show.

My Glog

This is what Kyla said when I asked her if she liked my blog, "Yes, but where's your glog?" She looked around the room trying to see it (it was on the computer right in front of her). I'm really liking this whole blog thing. I don't know if its very interesting to read or not but I like doing it and I like reading other people's too.

We miss you Jam-Cat.

Our cat Jammer has been gone almost a year now but Kyla still mentions him often. If you ask her if she has a pet she still says she has a cat named Jammer but that he is lost. A year ago, when he disappeared after moving to our new house we told her that he was either lost in the woods behind our house or that he went to live at someonelse's house. Well, I think she combined the two and always tells us that Jammer lives in a little house in the woods with little tiny cabinets! Yesterday, was the first time she told me that she wanted him back. Sad! We miss him a lot. We had him for 4 1/2 years. He was a great cat...except for a few very annoying habits.

Favorite Food?

My first attempt at really blogging about something: It's always debated what our girls' favorite food is. There are about five things they really love. Since they don't really eat much of anything, when they find something they like, they REALLY like it. Butter toast (peanut butter toast), french fries, red robin chicken strips, spaghetti, and POPCORN are their top picks. (These are besides the obvious ice cream, cookies, and candy- which they love just like their mother). Kyla had about five little bowls of popcorn tonight and was still asking for more.
