our weekend away

Time for our little summer family adventure. Remember THIS from last year? I think that was one of my most popular blog posts ever. So funny.

This year we went to Lake Wenatchee. We were given the use of a cabin close by so we decided to go there for the weekend. AND we took Molly…so that makes it even more of an adventure.

The weekend was filled with hours at the lake, camp fires, new card games for the girls, adventures and lots of good quality family time together.

Get ready for a million and one pictures.



The girls were little adventurers. I was really proud of them. Kyla climbed her way through rocks and trees and was on the move exploring the entire time.



Heidi wanted so badly to swim over to that island out there. She got the chance (twice) with dad (Kyla went once). They floated on air mattresses (and with life jackets) and went exploring in bare feet when they got there.

Both girls LOVED this rope at the cabin and came back filthy (feet and faces) every time.

Molly was her normal Molly self, doing her normal Molly things…

...loving life.

…of course constant snacking.


…and being the good little baby sleeper that she is laying down and taking a nap at the beach.

We all enjoyed swimming in the cold water on the hot hot days we were there. We spent a lot of time in this little spot.


Heidi said her favorite part of the whole weekend was roasting marshmallows and a hotdog (after dinner- she said she just had to try it).

 

A super fun time with my girlies and my guy. We’ll see what’s in store for our camping future. I know having showers and beds doesn’t seem liking camping to some but Casey said it just right when he said “camping is a state of mind.” It’s true. This was my kind of camping.



Off to have a few last summer adventures before school begins and I have a 1st grader, Kindergartner, and my little Molly McGee!
